New Math

A co-worker just told me this joke. I spit out coffee laughing, so I figured it must be good enough to re-tell.

Here's proof that American's are getting worse at math. Two liberal arts majors were walking to their political science class when one says to the other:

"I just saw in the paper that 12 Brazilians were killed in a factory fire."

The other student said:

"That's awful. How many is a brazillion?"

Hmph.

I heard this joke last week.

Which just goes to prove....those liberal arts majors are more aware of the surroundings....

Oh. And this is how I heard it...

Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed in an accident'

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the president sits, head in hands. Finally, the President looks up and asks..........

"How many is a Brazillion??"

Yeah, my dad (who tells jokes ad nauseum) loves this joke. It's in his current repertoire, which means I get to hear it at all social gatherings. Not that I've BEEN at any social gatherings lately, but you know what I mean.

well, dirpus. You'll be glad to know that I don't get out much, and thus have never heard this joke until your fine retelling of it. I didn't exactly spit my coffee, but I did kick my head back a little and go "hah". :)

I may have taken a few liberties in the retelling of this joke...

Being a geek, I added the part about it being liberal arts majors taking poli-sci classes.

At least I didn't make them women or blonde :)

But, I figured that since it's my blog, I could be a little politically incorrect if I wanted. :P
